The Senior Awards Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 31 at 7 PM. Listed below are available scholarships. Be sure to adhere to deadlines.  If you have any questions, see Mrs. Heller.

MULHALL SCHOLARSHIP—applications due in Guidance April 28. Eligibility: Students studying for a career in visual, graphic or industrial arts; or in related fields

 ROCKY PILGER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP—applications due in Guidance April 28. Eligibility: Grades, financial need, community service

COACH MIOLI MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP—applications due in Guidance April 28. Eligibility: senior football players.
 
DR. IRVING SCHREIBER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP—applications due in Guidance April 28. Eligibility: Record of improvement in Junior and Senior year; financial need
 
PRHS SCHOLARSHIP FORM—applications due in Guidance April 28. Every senior should apply.

Pascack Historical Society Ellen Berdais Memorial Scholarship 
Award: $2000 to a Park Ridge HS senior
Eligibility: A highly motivated student with financial need who has demonstrated good character throughout his or her high school years. It is not necessary for the student to be attending a 4 year college to be eligible for the scholarship as long as he or she is determined to further his or her education at a community college, trade school or some other institution of higher learning
Apply: Historical Society Application. Essays and letter of recommendation are required
Deadline: due in the Guidance Office by Monday, May 1 at 3:00 PM

Armenian Relief Society
Award: $750 scholarship
Eligibility: seniors who are of Armenian heritage (proof is needed), live in Bergen County for at least one year, plan to attend a four-year college, and have an A/B average

Deadline: completed applications and a signed transcript release from are due to your counselor by April 21, 2017

200 Club of Bergen County
Eligibility: senior; a child or stepchild of an active, retired or deceased Bergen County law enforcement officer, fire fighter, or ambulance corps member.
Applicants may qualify on their own merit if they are members of the ambulance corps, police or fire auxiliary and have been so before September 1, 2016.
Criteria considered: community and civic involvement; academic (including SAT/ACT scores); financial need; service of the applicant or family member

You will need to provide a transcript, SAT/ACT report, and tax returns.
*Make sure you follow directions: you need one original and 4 copies for a total of 5—this includes attachments (ex.—you will need 5 transcripts)

New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome
Eligibility: NJ seniors who have been diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome and plan to attend a college or trade school

The Columbians: An Italian-American Philanthropic Organization
Award: approximately 30 scholarships ranging from $1000 to $5000
Eligibility: seniors of Italian heritage; good academic standing; community involvement; financial need; and an essay concerning Italian heritage

Forward completed application, three (3) references, and a copy of your parents’ IRS Form 1040 to your School Counselor. If you prefer, you may mail financial information directly to the Columbians.
Deadline: Application and supporting documentation due to your counselor by April 24. Must provide a transcript release. Application and transcript must be mailed by PRHS (if in paper copy).
If you submit the application online via the Columbians’ website, then your counselor mails your transcript and documentation.
Completed applications must be received by May 1. 


The Thorton Sisters Foundation, Inc.
Award: various
Eligibility: senior; female of Color (e.g., African-American, Latino-American, Caribbean-American, Native American, etc.); GPA of C+ or higher
Apply: see Mrs. Heller for application. Applicants must complete application, include transcript, 3 letters or recommendation, family income tax form, essay, photo, and verify college acceptance
Deadline: postmarked by May 7, 2017
 
AIA/ALNNJ Architects League
Award: $2,000
Eligibility: senior who will be pursuing a college degree in architecture from an NAAB accredited architecture program

Mid-NJ Association: Liesel Krehan Memorial Scholarship Award
Award: two $1,000 scholarships—one awarded to a male, one to a female student
Eligibility: seniors who have been associated with a MNJYSA affiliates club/team as an athlete, volunteer trainer, or as a referee during high school. Financial need is NOT considered as one of the elements of the selection process

Award: at least four $5,000 scholarships
Eligibility: The John Lepping Memorial Scholarship is specifically designed to support students with disabilities who demonstrate academic success and are motivated to move their lives forward through education despite their disabilities

Lep Foundation—Cure Magazine Scholarship
Award: $5,000
Eligibility: students who have been affected by cancer and the financial burdens on them and their families as a result of the disease and all related treatments. Proof will be required after award notification; please do not submit with application. Applicant must reside in the United States of America
